Baysgarth House Museum
Preserving historic character
OUR WORK HERE
Located in the heart of historic Barton upon Humber, Baysgarth House was the ancestral home of the prominent Nelthorpe family. Set in 30 acres of parkland this Grade II listed building is a beautiful example of Georgian architecture and the perfect setting for a family day out.
After receiving excellent feedback during the pre-qualification stage, we’re thrilled that Stone Edge has been appointed by Calls Architecture as the Principal Contractor for the conservation and adaptation of the stable block at Baysgarth House Museum.
WORKS INCLUDED:
Externally:
- Scaffolding, façade restoration, and roofing repairs, ensuring the building’s historic character is preserved.
- We undertook repairs to leadwork on the roof, rainwater good repairs, replacement of windows and re-pointing work.
Internally:
- Stone Edge sensitively transformed the space with a new café, ice cream parlour, toilets, serving points, and seating—all carefully designed to complement the site’s heritage.
